We are back! It seems like we were gone forever but with winter break then a school theatre trip right at the beginning of January it seems like we were constantly busy! Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a bit..got a tad sidetracked making plans for a new year of Altered Junk and the new direction we are going! WOW...it's gonna be super cool.

First, let me re-introduce our Altered Girls - Irene (ScrappieIrene) and Yvonne (our newest member)!! Here are some of Irene's recent creations with our Altered Junk goodies. She is using them for her Art Caravan Journal at SBG! AND she one of her creations got picked as an outstanding layout in an online magazine! Sweet!

We are also the December Monthly Kit Challenge Hostess' at MouseScrappers! So i joined MouseScrappers about a year ago when I was searching for something and sort of forgot about it till we started planning our trip in August and have since been immersed several times a week in catching up on ALL the weekly challenges (my own personal goal) - out of 112 challenges thus far, I have 37 to go!

Anyway, I am hosting the Monthly Kit Challenge - basically you get a whole kit free to scrap with ! Of course all layouts must be disney related in some way (could be visits to the parks, parties at home, shopping, home decor, etc) and you really should pop over and have some fun! There are speed scraps, weekly challenges, template challenges, monthly kit challenges, and more! The participation prizes on the weekly challenges are wickedly cool and it's a lot of fun and a way for me to scrap the disney photos that i do have from our trip in 2000 (had to scan my photo album) and Matt's pictures from 2009 for his choir trip!

We had every intention of being back on Monday but alas that didn't happen...after our guest went back home, I ended up having some dental work done and sort of floated thru that fun and didn't get to posting!

I have discovered a template goddess! J Labaya Designs - I just had to share!!! Go to her FAN page and LIKE her and she will post another template freebie when she gets to 250! (I am not on her CT but I started collecting her templates and I LOVE them).

I thought I would share a photo or two of Coco meets Indy - in case any of you have forgotten or don't know - we have a pet hedgehog, Coco and we also have a pet lizard (Australian Blue Tongued Skink) - they finally met at Matt's birthday party a few weeks ago. Funny thing, Indy has no teeth so if anything, he should have been scared of Miss Prickles and her quills/teeth but nothing happened. They sniffed and that was about it. Indy kept trying to wander off to find my dad...they sort of have a bond.

Wow...I am really a bad blogger......

So sorry for being MIA again. Sheesh. All I can say is that I have been busy with Miss Shelby. She is taking an internship class this year and we had to go find business casual/dressy clothes for her class. She will be interning in 2 weeks at a middle school - 6th grade math and then 2nd semester at an elementary school. She is leaning towards elementary education..so we shall see. I guess taking the ACT would be a good start....need to register for that.

Anyway, we had some great new releases last week and some cool ones coming up for Altered Junk. I want to thank everyone who purchased from our Buy it all - Altered Junk Sale! It was a great success.

Bad blogger! That's me. I am a bad blogger. I posted an MIA post on 8/17 and we were still MIA....sooooo sorry.....it's been crazy busy with all the show choir stuff and getting Miss Shelby ready for her senior year of HS! Plus designing, surviving storms, power outages, etc!

So sorry that we have been MIA. Shelby's showchoir rehearsal 'camp' started last Monday and we have been gone every day - no internet service and then we went on a retreat with the group to Branson MO for major intense practice and learning new choreography!

Happy ~~Friday~~ Saturday to all!!! Yes, it seems I don't know how to actually hit the PUBLISH button... So FINALLY have 99% of Miss Shelby's room done. We just need to hang artwork and misc decorating but the majority is done! Even got the closet door back on that was taken off when her brothers had the room! Sheesh. That was fun.

BEFORE (now this is after taking everything off the walls and removing my roll top desk that was in her room - that was a heavy duty moving job but Matt and I pulled it off. Of course that meant going from the 2nd floor to the Basement!) Don't ask how we did it.

Her room was HOT pink, black and white. Painted OVER easter egg purple in 2007! She kind of thought she needed a more grown up look. That is EDWARD/Twilight on her ceiling...

During Priming/Painting:

She picked out DARK GRAY/DARK RED

You gotta love Edward watching over us! He now resides in the closet.....

Final pictures (ignore the piles on the floor of decor items we have yet to hang up or the piles on her dresser of things to still organize. But in a nutshell, her room was rearranged as well. Bookcase, 2 dressers all along the main wall and GORGEOUS red silk/satiny drapes hun floor to ceiling on the window. Get this - we got them at Lowes. Gorgeous, well made and a fraction of the cost I was finding elsewhere!

The comforter sealed the color selection.....found it on clearance at Kmart.....gorgeous! And thick and warm! (see the closet door - that used to be a pink curtain....)

Yes we need to get artwork up but overall she is SUPER happy with it. No desk the wall I didn't take a picture of has a mirror to put on it. I will post FINAL pics after we are done decorating/hanging the mirror!!

Thursday was Miss Coco's 1 year birthday! WOW....to celebrate she had some fun fruit along with meal worms (well hubby spoils her and gives meal worms to her every other day) but she likes watermelon - not crazy about blueberries....lol.

Hope you all had a great week! We are back from our road trip and wow..it was fun but tiring (I did all the driving....)....it was a rental and nobody under 25 could drive it unless I wanted to pay lots extra. Umm....guess not.

Happy Birthday to ME! YEP! (NEW releases, sale, freebie, oh my!)

Today is my birthday.....yep. So sorry for the absence but last week was all about moving Matt to his first apartment....the weather held and it wasn't too hot or rainy! 2 trucks, 3 cars and me, Shelby, Andy, Matt, his dad and my dad all moved him! We loaded the night before (clothes and stuff in my car) then the day of we loaded it all in less than 2 hours and headed over to his apartment - got there by 4 while he signed the lease we started moving his stuff in..less than 2 hours later he was moved in and mostly unpacked and organized including all the empty boxes and trash taken to the dumpster! Down side - he lives on the 3rd floor! YIKES>...but it was a good tiring day and we (Shelby and I) spent Friday with him and did grocery shopping and other errands for food and supplies! He is all set.

Happy Friday to you all. First off, please keep all the people in Arizona that are being evacuated or have been evacuated due to wildfires in your thoughts. Our dear friend, Inger, SotoCreations who does the Altered Junk series with us has been evacuated - so our thoughts and prayers are with her family as we all hope and pray the wildfire gets under control soon before reaching their little town.

So 2 weeks from yesterday - Mr. Matt is moving out to his own place! He is wicked excited...so my moving kit I releases last week will come in super handy! Then 2 weeks after that we all are going out of town to see friends in Indiana!! WOOHOO!

So in news today, we are on the countdown to Mr. Matt moving out....target date is June 23rd. He is soooooooo excited! I, not so much....well, I am happy for him but like any parent whose children start leaving the nest, it's bittersweet! I think he and Gabbie will have a grand time and being on their own.

Wednesday news! Retiring from PlainDigitalWrapper....

So if you read the title, we are closing up our shop at PlainDigitalWrapper. We have decided to focus on our main line at ScrapDelicious, the Altered Junk line and another great project we have been asked to be a part in....June 30th will be our last day there. We will be having a big sale June 15th - June 30th as some of the products will be retiring and going back into the vault....some of the newer kits will move to ScrapDelicious, some will be revamped and reworked...so stay tuned for the sale ad...

Anyway, keep those contest answers coming! Working on some cool new kits including some of the request ones from a few months ago. Haven't forgotten about any of them, just have to gather the research and materials....

Friday - New Releases, News and Freebie! (long post but worth it!)

Well, it's been a long week and I still owe you graduation pics of 1st Prince so let's do that first - in case any of you don't remember, Andy attended the University of Missouri - Columbia (Colubia, Mo) about 1 1/2 - 2 hours east of Kansas City (towards St. Louis, MO). Here are some pictures of the campus and graduation on May 14th. He was in the Honors Graduation ceremony first as he was in the top 15% of the graduating class for the spring semester (there were approx. 5300 students graduating in the spring class of 2011). AND then his College of Education ceremony was in the afternoon - he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, K-12 Vocal Music with Latin Honors Magna Cum Laude. He also secured a teaching position at Bode Middle School in St. Joseph, MO (about 45 minutes north of Kansas City). So he is quite pumped and ready to get started teaching.

IF you have been following the news at all, the mid-west has been under some nasty weather since Sunday and as you know Joplin, MO was hit very hard. As in 75% of the town is gone. We are 160 miles away but it still sad and devastating.

Creative Junction @ ScrapDelicious (Create a kit)

Happy Sunday! This is being preposted as we are off at Andy's college graduation this weekend! Will post pictures this week!!!

ScrapDelicious has a 'create a kit' each month and we decided to play with the May colors...oh they are yummy and delicious. We get to pick our own theme and we came up with Pixie Picnic! I hope you will run and grab this! It's such a cute kit and since any of us designers who participate all use the same color swatch you can mix and match!

First up - a kit that is special to my whole family..I am a Survivor - a cancer 'survivor' kit! Celebrate being a survivor! As many of you know, my mother has stage 2 breast cancer...well, she is finally finished with all her treatments other than the physical therapy. It was one year ago this month, April 2010, that she found her lump. She is an inspiration of being to overcome obstacles and she is a survivor.

Well we had so much fun at my mom's for Easter! It was great and she was doing very well considering she can't stand for very long! We had TACOS! YUM! The weather held out for us to hunt eggs outside (well the 3 little kids)....These first 3 photos are of my nephews!

NEW Releases, Prom Pics, oh my!

WOOHOO! Happy almost Easter everyone! So today we have new goodies in the Altered Junk line at ScrapDelicious! But first, would you like to see Miss Shelby and some fun prom pictures? Well, Matt and I played photographer (he had my parents camera since my mom couldn't walk all over the yard taking pics) and boy did we have fun! Got creative! Shelby went with her best guy friend, Evan. It was low-key - dinner at my house, pics in the yard..but they had a blast!

(I used CoffeeShop Picture Perfect Action and color-blocked action on these photos)

So there is a sampling of prom pics..we took over 83 photos....spent 2 days editing them so I could send some to her date's mom..
